Microsoft has finally spoken about the first service pack of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.

As expected, SP1 will not bring groundbreaking changes, but will include all the previously released hotfixes plus a new Remote Desktop client that takes advantage of RemoteFX introduced in the server-side with SP1 for Windows Server 2008 R2.

For Windows Server 2008 service pack 1 will be a big deal. Sp1 will introduce two new desktop virtualization features: Microsoft RemoteFX and Dynamic Memory. Youcan read more about Dynamic Library and RemoteFX in Microsoft Virtualization Team Blog.

Even though they haven’t revealed a time frame, it is expected to be released on the fourth quarter of 2010. The service pack will be available through Windows update and Microsoft Download Center as usual.
