Most of the bloggers out there use Google analytics for their blogs via analytics plugin. But the biggest problem with Analytics is that it doesn’t show real time stats. That’s where Clicky comes in. Clicky is a wordpress plugin developed by Joost de Valk. For those who are unaware, Joost de Valk is the CEO of Yoast and the man behind Analytics for WordPress plugin.

Clicky shows real time data in an Analytics like interface that is easy to understand. You can see detailed statistics about different aspects like the Visitors, Content and Location etc.

The first thing you should do for using Clicky is to register with them. Clicky account is of two types – Free, Blogger, Pro, Super Pro and Enterprise. The free account will be sufficient for most users.  Other account types has added benefits such as twitter integration, spy (see every action by every visitor) etc. For a complete list on what features are available for which accounts, click here.  Everyone who signs up will get a 21 day free trial of the pro features.

After registration you will be given a code that you have to add to your blog. Detailed instruction on how to put the code can be found here. Clicky can be used with static web pages, wordpress, blogger, typepad etc. After putting the code you can start using Clicky.
